ATLANTA, GEORGIA – The 19th NAESM National African American MSM Leadership Conference returns to its home city of Atlanta, Georgia on June 7-11, 2023, at the Westin Peachtree Plaza Atlanta hotel in downtown Atlanta. Presenters and participants will address the theme, “All Hands-on Deck: Deploying a Syndemic Response to HIV” at the four-day conference.
NAESM’s Leadership Conference is the only national health-focused conference for and by Black gay men. The conference attracts a wide audience of gay and bisexual black men in healthcare and health organizations, LGBTQ advocacy, and national community-based organizations, as well as professionals who seek to serve this demographic.
Prepare to attend all four days! Be a part of a kickoff tour of NAESM’s new offices in midtown Atlanta on Wednesday June 7, 2023. That first day of the conference will host satellite meetings and day-long Institutes on specialized health and social justice topics. Day one will also welcome a new cohort of the Creating Responsible Intelligent Black Brothers (CRIBB) Fellowship Program. The C.R.I.B.B. Fellowship is a leadership training and mentoring program for Black gay and bisexual men designed to support and strength their capacity to contribute to local and national efforts in reducing and ending the epidemic of HIV/AIDS, and other health disparities, and social injustices, impacting Black communities . Days two and three will be filled with informative and educational workshops including a session with our federal partners, and a one-on-one interview with NAESM Executive Director, Alvan Quamina. In the evening of day three, conference attendees have the opportunity to be a part of Pride Fest by NAESM, a downtown Atlanta block party celebrating “love, health and unity” for Pride month. On Day four, the conference will share in a spiritual dialogue and witness the graduation of the C.R.I.B.B. Fellowship 2022 cohort.
The NAESM Leadership Conference Call for Abstracts portal is open at https://naesminc.org/leadership-conference/call-for-abstracts/. Abstracts will be accepted as institutes, workshops, or poster presentations. Because there may be multiple submissions on a single topic, the review committee requests that presenters remain flexible. For example, multiple workshops on a single topic may be combined into an institute.
Take advantage of the early bird registration rate of $299 until December 31, 2022 to secure your participation for the conference. Click on https://naesminc.org/leadership-conference/registration/.
